INTRODUCTION TO VETERINARY NEURO PHARMACOLOGY Central Nervous System •        The central nervous system is the brain and spinal cord. •        It is wrapped in 3 layers of membranes called meninges . •        The brain contains fluid-filled ventricles that are continuous with the central canal of the cord. Divisions of the Brain •        Generally, many body functions involve cells in several areas of the brain.
